I've known Ana for many years and delighted to meet her each time. We have seen her original space grow outwards and upwards as the years have elapsed. She provides a description of the many choices that can help you decide what tickles your fancy for that particular moment. The veggies, and ingredients (spices) are always fresh and pungent with flavour. The set up seems quite unique in that you begin on the main floor then order away, then choose your spot inside, or outside on the large terrace facing an old church, away from the bustle of Cascais. Location, location! You can even climb two flights of stairs and opt for the rooftop area (smaller and can be windy much of the summer). If you are not in the mood for lunch you can go for the freshest of juice combinations (4). Example: ABC: apple, beet, carrot etc, Green choice etc. Teatime will offer you several choices of desserts from pistachio cheesecake, an apple pie to orange and carrot cake and more... House of Wonders is appropriately named: prepare to be surprised and inspired :. Thanks to you and all your staff that make this place a living testament to creative metamorphosis...
Never had been such a huge fan of vegetarian but after trying the vegetarian food of House of wonders. I just felt in love with vegetarian food. It was really delicious and had enjoy every food. The most recommended drink is SANGRIA here and the Staffs here are really friendly and awesome hospitality. I would recommend everybody visiting Cascas to go there and taste these delicious food along with beautiful rooftop view.
Mooie etalage met het eten uitgestald updated by previous review on 2022-10-20
Had such a good experience choosing from the visual menu, the waiter was super polite and kind. It wasn't very busy at all, just my friend and I and another two people eating dinner on their own. It was pretty quiet I guess, and me and my friend were catching up in our normal voices. Someone, who I later work out is the owner of the restaurant, comes over to me right as I'm speaking and tells me to lower my voice as there's other people in the restaurant trying to enjoy their dinner on their own. My friend and I then felt so uncomfortable that we paid and immediately left, telling her that she was rude for saying that to us and that's why we left. She didn't say anything in return, just sat there. As far as I know, none of the other customers had said anything to her about us being too loud, she just clearly had a problem with us speaking. I asked the other waiter if we were being too loud and he said it was probably just because there weren't many other people in the space. Really marred an otherwise fun experience, with pretty decent food. Won't be returning as will feel watched and like I have to monitor my own behaviour.
Really novel. Visually appealing food, on display, like restaurants in Japan. Point and pick, with optional choices. Cold salads, hot soups, hot plates. All vegetarian, mostly vegan. Tasty and filling. Accompanied with some rosé Prosecco sangria…. Definitely worth the option. A must find. Top floor, dining in the sun. Great!
