Sabores De Casa - Cascais

This is a hidden gem! All for only 7.5 euros you get so much!!! I had a yummy soup followed by ‘spiritual cod!’, which is cod fish in a creamy cheesy sauce, all washed down with a glass of red!! It’s the perfect amount for lunch, as it’s light portions. The cod was the special for the day and every day they have a different special I think, all of which are traditional Portuguese! So, if you’re looking for a light lunch for minimal money.. and a nice glass of wine, or a coffee if you’re all ‘wined out’ then this is a superb little place! The Owner is a lovely Portuguese lady who was so accommodating and friendly!! I also took a little picture of these pies they had.. we were too full up but behind the counter they had lots of other home made little goodies!!

It was a thursday lunchtime in lovely Cascais. we started with some olives and bread, a wonderful courgette soup followed by a lovely oven baked cod with cream (bacalhau com natas) that was out of this world!!! We then had for dessert a lovely apple and cinamon tart acompained by an espresso... and all of this... for 7.50 euros. With a coke zero too!! Will recomend this to anyone travelling to Cascais for a quick straight forward homemade super flavoursome meal!!

I visited this hidden Gem in January 2018 whilst competing in a big tournament in Lisbon, we choose to stay in Cascais and therefore me and my teammates got an airbnb in the historical centre of Cascais. Everyday Ines presented us with a super dish of the day (different everyday) together with a nibble of olives and bread, soup, and followed by a dessert and coffee, all for 7,50 euros!!! I felt that we were already winning the tournament just by finding this lovely cosy restaurant/take away. We also found that instead of the dish of the day menu offer, we could also order to take home our favourite dishes from the menu. I remember I took to the tournament day an amazing Bacalhau which I will never forget! It tasted like Heaven!
