Marisqueria Xaco - Castell-Platja d'Aro

For a restaurant that specializes in seafood, I assumed this place would have authentic paella. I held out through our entire trip through Spain until we arrived in Costa Brava to have good paella. This was terrible. I could have made it with rice-a-roni and shrimp I buy for my cat. 4 meals total; paella for 2, and the fried calamari (my son liked it) and the fresh prawns came with nothing else. 2 beers, 1 water, and 2 sodas all for $130. Total rip off and totally disappointing.

Recommended by our hotel but , pricey ,poor service and at 6 euros per large prawn more like London rates ! Staff were pretty miserable . We had their speciality lobster in rice , it great . It’s on the main tourist drag so I should have known better !

We wanted to have FRESH Fish and we had one of the best ever. We went every day of our stay in Platija d'Aro. If you are a FISH lover, you have to come here!
