We did not have reservations and they graciously seated us in the Pub Room for a cocktail before our table was ready. The memorabilia displayed was amazing and made the time pass too quickily. Both our dinners and the service was impeccable. Do Not miss this beautiful piece of history.
Wonderful 3 nights, people were great and the food amazing. We met two different couples that have gone once a year for over thirty years.
Julie and Jack are a needed anchor in Castine! What would Fourth of July in Castine be without BBQ and drinks on their wonderful porch. Hardest working couple that give 100% all the time. They have created a very special destination at the Pentagoet Inn and one that I highly recommend visiting. Love them both <3
Arrived late evening, 7ish, and couldn't have been more welcoming. Light supper and conversation with other guests in the barroom. Rooms quaint, quiet and comfortable. Everything we needed. Whether coming to relax or paying through, we highly recommend.
The Pentagoet Inn in Castine is not only a great place to stay, it 's also a great place to dine. Only about an hour from Bangor, it 's well worth the drive for a special meal or just because. Last night Paula and I had a wonderful meal at The Pentagoet Inn to celebrates her birthday. From the moment we walked through the door the staff made us feel right at home. They all were aware of Paula 's birthday and all made a point of wishing her a Happy Birthday. Selecting what we 'd eat was not without difficulty due to so many wonderful selections on the menu. Paula enjoyed green pea soup with watercress and leeks and lobster with linguini while I started with a grilled asparagus salad and enjoyed a braised lamb shank as my entree. We finished with strawberry rhubarb crisp for dessert. All in all an excellent dining experience and well worth the trip.
