Chez Jacqueline - Castirla

We visited this restaurant after it was recommended by our hotelier in ponte leccia. it was described as one of the best in the asco valley and it was certainly one of the best meals we had in our 2 weeks in Corsica. it is. a family-run restaurant, with a simple menu. You can either choose all the courses for 25 euro or choose the small menu with 3 of the above mentioned dishes at 19 euro. between the 4 of us we have everything from super light and delicious brociu beignets (savoury donuts,) corsican charcoal, callbserole, brociu lasagnes, flan, we ate outside under the white covered terrace and our waitress, the enkelin of the chef was absolutely beautiful. if they are found after an authentic restaurant away from the many venerable and disappointing restaurants in the coastal areas, visit chez jacqueline. they will not be disappointed.

Between the 4 of us we sampled everything from super light and delicious brociu beignets (sort of savoury donuts), Corsican charcuterie, veal casserole, brociu lasagnes, flan, cheese and fruits. We ate outside under the vine covered terrasse and our waitress, the granddaughter of the cook was absolutely lovely. If you are after an authentic restaurant away from the many ostentatious and disappointing restaurants found in the coastal resorts, do visit Chez Jacqueline. You won't be disappointed.

The set menu in this little restaurant in the middle of nowhere is good (I'm told it doesn't change much), quite copious and especially good value for money. We enjoyed our evening in this quaint place.
