We walked along the sea wall taking in all the things my husband remembered from many years ago and we came across a sign for ANITA'S TEA ROOM. We went in for a light lunch and a cuppa. On the approach to the Tearoom the front was a blaze of colour with potted plants and had a real seaside theme inside and out. We ordered two teas and a sandwich each what a treat they were!! Lovely thick cut bread, very generous and really tasty fillings. The staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome. The whole cafe was exceptionally clean and well run. A big bonus was pleasant toilet facilities. Another plus point dogs allowed!! This whole experience made our day out very special would definitely visit again. XxX
Took my parents and son here for breakfast. Top rate service, family run business. Food fresh and cooked lovely. Best fry up I’ve had in years. Inside is quaint and lovely. Highly recommend. Hidden Gem
I have been here a number of times, and have always been impressed by the friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff. It is a small family business, which caters for the local community with deliveries as well, and the food is always tasty and fresh. Plenty of cakes to choose from, and the occasional home made specials are worth a visit alone. There is always someone there, and the atmosphere is very friendly among all-comers, and conversation is not far away with whoever is there. Last visit I was lucky enough to have the home made rhubarb and strawberry crumble, and it was heavenly. Well worth a visit to support a family business, and you will not be disappointed, I never have, and keep going back.
I was glad to see that Anita's tearoom is still open as we need somewhere to sit and admire the view. Been a couple of times with one of our dogs as the tearoom is dog friendly so its popular with dog walkers. The outside is decorated with lovely arrangements of flowers. There is a good menu which hopefully suits everyone. We have yet to try one of her dinners but have had sandwiches and cakes which have been tasty. Well done Anita.
I happened to be at a loose end in Canvey Island, saw a banner advertising Anita’s Tearoom, and went to see what it was like it was worth the diversion along the sea wall! I had the 10 item breakfast, and it was served quickly and in a friendly fashion, and was very tasty (special recommendation for having Irish White pudding on the menu which was a very pleasant surprise) Reasonably priced and enjoyable. Certainly set me up for the day!
