Visited here for a coffee and couldn't resist the fabulous lemon meringue pie. A lovely quaint place to stop for a break or a treat. Excellent staff. The Farmshop has some very interesting and different produce
A lovely little gem located along the N2 road about one third of the way between Castleblaney and Carrickmacross in the Drumlin county of Monaghan. Great for brunch, lunch and a selection of fresh food items such as meat, vegetables, bread, confectionery and artisan produce. And of course one essential ingredient which is always a key distinguishing factor and this establishment has it in spades is a friendly and helpful staff who strive to ensure that customers have an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful historical building with a farm shop that offers a great variety of items to purchase for your freezer or store cupboard. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they offer delicious lite-bites for a quick lunch. Additionally, there is lots of free on-site parking available.
After traveling from Dublin, we decided to take a lunch break at the Meeting House cafe. The three kids were getting hangry, but we had promised them a treat since we had dined at this cafe a few years ago. Unfortunately, the cafe was closed, but they were still selling plenty of fresh, local produce for takeaway. However, there were no tables or chairs available for us to sit down. The sign outside still said cafe, as did their Facebook and Tripadvisor pages. Perhaps a casualty of Covid, but we hope someone will reopen this once lovely cafe at this fantastic spot on the N2!
