I have been living in Porto for 4 years and I have always avoided this bar because it looked to me just a tourist trap . But some weeks ago some friends came to Porto to visit me and one day while taking a walk in Foz,I took the chance to finally try this Bar. It was Monday,06 pm. And when we arrived I tried to call a waiter 3 or 4 times asking for a table. Nobody welcomed or replied, it was like if we were invisible . After probably the fifth attempt, a waiter answered pretty upset you can sit wherever you want! . So we took a sit and after 10 minutes a girl bring us the menu. We tried to order a bottle of wine but again it was impossible to call the attention of any waiters. After at least 15 minutes we finally managed to order a bottle of Chardonnay (price 25€ . The girl brought us a different bottle of Chardonnay saying that the other was over. We accepted and the wine was ok. Then it was the time of the bill. Once again it took a life. We got answers like no it 's not with me or you have to wait the person in charge . After 20 minutes we were about to leave the bar without paying , when we finally received the bill. Surprise! the price it was 34€. I asked explanation and the waitress answered that it was a different bottle of Chardonnay. I replied that on the menu there was only 1 Chardonnay and the price was 25€ but she said again this is another Chardonnay As we were in a hurry and we didn 't want to discuss with such a ignorant people, we paid and we ran away from this ridiculous bar. That 's the first and last time for sure!
We visited here for lunch. Such a beautiful setting. Our waited was lovely and we had a delicious roast beef sandwich to share with french fries. Music was great and mixed. It was so nice we decided to travel ftom porto on our last night, sit on the terrace to watch the sunset and book the restaurant for dinner at 7.30. They took a note of our booking but when we got there they said they didn't have a booking for us however still accommodated us in a small partitioned off space inside the restaurant. The main part did start to fill up not long after we went inside to eat. We had wine on the terrace, it was a beautiful evening and the hope was to hear the waves lapping onto the shore in this lovely setting but it wasn't to be. The music was just awful. I don't know what kind of vibe they were trying to create but whatever it was it def didn't work. My husband asked the middle age DJ what music he was playing very loudly by the way and he said house music? It was truly awful and continued to boom out as we ate dinner. The food was delicious. My husband had the veal and he said was one of the best veal main courses he'd had. I had the sea bass on cauliflour puree and it was delicious also. Our waitress was delightful. Honestly we would have gone back as the setting was gorgeous but there is no way we could have suffered that music again. It's not cheap either but as I said our meals were lovely. SHAME
This place is in the perfect spot on the beach. Managed to get a table and didn’t have to wait too long. Our server was 10/10. Super quick and efficient and always available considering he was covering so many tables. Cocktails were great with a good choice available on the menu. These were a little pricy but to be expected considering the location. Good music and a good vibe.
The place is gorgeous, and have a great sunset view. Food is very tasty, but not cheap. Service was also very good, even though we were in a huge group. I recommend the place, we had a good time. The only thing that I did not like, is that they leave some bread with little sauces on the table, without you asking, and charge 4 Euro per person, independent if you ate or not.
