Fernandos - CASTROVILLE

I love Fernandos not just because the food is good but because they are very accommodating. Im a vegetarian and wanted to order something without meat. Fernando personally made enchilada sauce for me without meat even though it was not offered on the menu. Its a great place to eat because of the food and the friendly service.

Fernando's restaurant was a great experience. Really nice location food was great. they put so much food on the plate that you can't finish it all. The chips and salsa are to die for. The service was really fast and friendly.

You cannot beat the service and food at Fernandos! They always feel like family, and their prices are very affordable. Where else in the area, besides a stripe joint, can you get a 22 oz thick T-bone with frits or a baking potato and a small salad for 14.99? You can't. Other items from the menu that should definitely try: grilled shrimp plate (10.50 , chicken friend steak, chicken and dumplings (my favorite! Chicken salad Croissant, and everything you can eat catfish on Friday. I would like to point out something else; I only introduced my dad to this place in 2008 or 2009 and since then visited a few times every month. When he got sick last year, Fernando Medrano came to me on the FB to check him, and let me know he was praying for my family. At a time when companies were injured due to CV19, he still took the time to get out and we appreciated the thoughts very much. We love this place and enjoy the food with them. Stop, they won't disappoint!

Really good food! The original owner/chef (Fernando) passed away a month or so ago; his daughter has taken over the restaurant, and the quality of the food there is still as good as it was before. One of the few must-eat restaurants on Castroville. Recommend the catfish.

The first time to visit Fernando's in Castroville, and it was great! I had a Mexican plate and Nabeby got the T bone. We both had enough food for a meal the next day! We will definitely try other dishes again!
