Foods pretty good. A lot of the stuff on the walls is for sale.a tourist joint .
What a great little gem of a place. We LOVE the food. The pecan crusted chicken and loaded baked potatoes are one of a kind. Staff is genuinely kind and helpful!
Myself, my wife and a friend stopped here for my wife's birthday on our way to Talladega after years of hearing about it. We showed up expecting this place to be good, It wasn't, it was amazing. Everything from the atmosphere of the 1800s building its in to the food is simply amazing. We got there around 2 and were seated pretty quickly which was great because it didn't take long before the place was filled and there were people waiting outside. Bekah was our waitress and went above and beyond. We ordered fried green tomatoes for out appetizer and we each had a salad and steaks(1 ribeye and 2 fillets). Everything was cooked to perfection, the kitchen staff knows exactly what they are doing. Not only was the waitress and food amazing the owner came by our table to see us and ensure everything was great. Its been 4 days and I already can't wait to take another trip back. My only advice to anyone planning to go is to go early because it fills up extremely fast although I will say this is definitely 1 restaurant I would gladly wait for a table to open up if I had to.
We decided to have our anniversary dinner here after reading all the reviews. It was a Saturday night about 5pm and we were told it would be an hour wait. We strolled through town awaiting the phone call letting us know the table was ready. The restaurant was clean, quiet and well decorated.Peyton was our server and he was friendly and efficient. He communicated with us throughout the entire visit and kept our drinks full.We ordered fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and it arrived quickly. Recognizing that we did not have plates, Peyton quickly retrieved them for us. Our food arrived just before we finished our appetizer and was cooked to perfection. We both got the ribeye in different sizes and both got the baked sweet potato. I had the steamed broccoli and hubby got the vegetable Medley which was only a .50 upcharge. Everything tasted better than expected and in our opinion, it all lived up to the hype. It was a bit pricey but we will definitely be returning for special occasions. Kudos to our server, the cook and everyone else who helps make this place so enjoyable.
