Hilltop Cafe: A Hidden Gem in Cedar Vale! We were on a road trip for Memorial Day and stumbled upon Cedar Vale at lunchtime. Shocked to find anything open, we checked reviews and Hilltop popped up with rave reviews. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The friendly server recommended the daily special: a cheeseburger and the salad bar. We couldn't resist adding tater tots (seriously, how many places have those anymore? . The salad bar, though small, was fresh and delicious, with a homemade pea salad that stole the show. Then came the tater tots. Magic! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, pure tater tot perfection. Finally, the cheeseburger arrived. Simple, delicious, like a classic homemade burger straight from Mom's kitchen. The whole special was only $8.95! What a steal for such a fantastic, unexpected find on a beautiful Kansas drive. Don't miss Hilltop Cafe!
