Ryan's Restaurant - Centennial Park

Some of the other places in Albany that offer breakfast (e.g. Dome, Vancouver Cafe), can be rather noisy. We wanted a bit more solitude and a more intimate setting, and decided to try Ryan's, having enjoyed dinner here on a couple of occasions.It is a hotel restaurant, so most of the other diners were hotel patrons on the morning we visited. But aside from us, there were only about 3 other tables in use, so it proved to be a nice quiet atmosphere. We each opted for the top item on the menu - a $20 meal that included sausages, bacon, two eggs, mushrooms, tomato, toast, and more, plus an orange juice. It took a while for the food to arrive, but it was delicious; especially the bread was good. The generous servings of the bacon and the mushrooms also deserve special mention. As part of this meal, we could help ourselves to complimentary cups of coffee from a nearby carafe. Obviously the coffee isn't as fancy as what you'd get from a specialty coffee place, although perhaps they would brew a higher quality coffee at an extra cost. But for $20, we figured we got our money's worth, and in a much more private and relaxing setting than many other places in town.

As a party of 7 on a Saturday evening, we ordered a variety: fish, salt n pepper squid, steak, pasta dish and garlic prawns. I wasn't overly impressed with my steak I ordered. It was lukewarm. Another guest on my table had exactly the same meal and her steak was hot. Most of the meals came out at the same time except for the prawns which were about 6 minutes later. Everyone enjoyed their meals except for myself. I don't think I will be rushing back.

Not a flash restaurant, but the meals we had were really delicious.We were warned to book a table early for that night as the locals frequent this restaurant and sometimes the guests miss out.Perhaps a certain amount of tables be held for motel guests. Menu was extensive and varied. I feel too pricey for the venue.When told the motel owner had his own trawler, fish was our choice.

Third time lucky with our dinner booking....we have been trying to go their the last couple of times we have been out for our dinner catch up ...so glad we persevered with our booking ....food was fabulous thoroughly enjoyed it ....service was really good too ...I chose the pork belly with rice and an Asian salad ....very flavorsome and I really enjoyed it then chose sticky date pudding for dessert and it was one of the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time really really nice .....overall a fabulous night out that all of us really enjoyed...would definitely recommend it and can't wait to go back ....

Staff were friendly and efficient, service was great .The meals were very good, great variety and well within the budget.
