The man who usually greets customers and takes their orders has a cheeky sense of humour. I find this part of the charm of this café. If, however you do not have a sense of humour yourself, you may struggle with this establishment. You may also struggle if you are of a fragile disposition or possess an inflated sense of uniqueness, or an unwarranted sense of entitlement, or are overly emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions. Not all the staff here are confident English speakers. Persons of a contemptible disposition may confuse a lack of verbal interaction with rudeness. it isn’t rudeness, it is just someone whose mother tongue isn’t English doing their best. The menu has a wide selection of traditional café style dishes. The value is fabulous. I have so far received generous portions of well-prepared food. Café 8 has become my go to place in Biggleswade. Highly recommended.
Me and my partner went there today to have some lunch. As we went to order the rude waiter tried to make me order more food by saying I’m too skinny and should eat more???!! Unbelievably rude and insensitive. This made me upset and we left the cafe. How are you insulting customers who put money in your pockets. Won’t be visiting again and according to other reviews the rude behavior from staff is nothing new. Would rather support other local business. Ended up going to Beegees just a few minutes away where the customer service was lovely unlike cafe 8. Avoid avoid avoid!!
I have visited this restaurant before and recently noticed a discrepancy in prices between the menu and what I was charged at the register. When I inquired about it, I was informed that the menus were 5 years out of date. Perhaps trading standards should be notified about this issue.
We had never dined out in Biggleswade before and stumbled upon this restaurant for lunch. The person who greeted us attempted to be funny with his banter, but ended up insulting my partner. Despite his apologies, we decided to walk out before completing our order. Customer service 101: never insult your customers, who are vital to your business. Additionally, it would be wise to update your menus instead of informing customers of price increases due to rising costs. I would not suggest dining at this establishment. Consider trying Cafe Mocha or another restaurant instead.
