When I made a reservation for a party of 16, I requested to be seated in the conservatory area to avoid feeling cramped. Despite reassurances, we were instead seated at the back of the restaurant. The service was slow, with drinks and starters taking over an hour to arrive. We waited another hour for our mains, and had to constantly remind the staff about our forgotten drinks. The food did not live up to expectations and did not resemble the pictures online. Although the restaurant did take a few items off the bill, we left feeling disappointed and do not plan on returning.
Food was extremely well prepared and the size of portions was a great suprise (compared to other local pubs). Mussels in white wine sauce were fresh, perfectly cooked and the broth was full of flavour, as well as the ribs from 'tenessee combo ' (The rib cut was perfect...meaty and juicy). Onion rings have been our fave (among other pubs). Staff as usual so lovely and attentive. So happy we 've changed our plans last night and ended up dinning at The Ship Inn. Thank you Charlotte and all staff.

Lovely décor, and location, however, they forever seem to have food out of stock!
