The park staff and tour guides were very friendly and helpful. They provided masks to wear throughout the experience, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a wonderful visit!
The cave tour was enjoyable, but it could have been much better if I had been able to understand the guide. I’m not sure if it was due to the accent or something else. In contrast, the female animal guide was very articulate and entertaining. While there weren’t any exotic animals, we did see local wildlife such as elk, deer, foxes, wolves, and bears. It would have been a nice touch to include some traditional Pennsylvanian wooden rattles or perhaps some copperhead snakes.
In addition to the cave experience, there are fun activities like a treasure hunt and gemstone panning for children. Another highlight is Prospector Pete’s Miners Maze, which boasts a 4,800 square meter labyrinth featuring numerous twists and turns, a viewing tower, and four checkpoint stations. This last attraction may appear straightforward, but it’s quite challenging and enjoyable for both the young and the young at heart!
Amazing place to spend the day with the family. There is a lot to take here, so plan at least 4 hours here. Wildlife tours take about an hour and a half by bus, the visitor on a tour through the harvest, where most animals roam freely in a pastoral environment. Bison, Whitetail-Deer, Elch and Longhorn cattle can be found to strip the fields. The wolves are enclosed in a large wooded area. Füchse, bears, mountain lions and Bobcats have smaller enclosures towards the end of the tour. The gift shop and ticket stand area is well organized and clean, offers a beautiful meeting place between activities. The cave tour is run by boat, as the limestone cave is fed in spring the main waters of Penn’s Creek) refreshingly cool during the hot summer months, it offers a beautiful charm from the heat. Cool cave formations and an illuminated tour with experienced guides complete a great journey here. Only negative at our visit was the café that we felt for what was served and slow service, as extremely expensive, but that I would recommend to bring the family here for a nice afternoon of activities.
This place is nothing short of spectacular. I took my family during our Thanksgiving vacation and this was the highlight of the trip. The cave itself was absolutely breathtaking. The tour guide was friendly, and quite knowledgeable. The guide stopped the boat often and pointed out various things and explained each area. He really put in alot of effort and it made the tour so much better. We also did the animal safari and though it was a bit chilly, it was great. The guide on this tour was also extremely knowledgeable and seemed excited to talk about each animal on the tour. Afterwards we spent some time in the gift shop, which had a great selection and very reasonable prices. We did the maze, which was really fun. Overall this was an incredible experience and I will absolutely do it again. I absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone!
