The wines we did try were alright but nothing exceptional, although the person who walked us through our tasting was very knowledgeable. Food options included yummy pizza and a food truck. Live music outside on the weekends
I recommend it for families that don’t like playgrounds or understand wine! It’s a wine-drinking destination for the unexperienced that caters to non-local drinkers or even Bull Run tourists. Staff advised us our unruly four-year-old penetrated their corporate office beside the members-only section. This was after the scripted, self-disfigured sommelier charged us $70 for the most peculiar, overpriced tastings we’ve had. The pizza shack failed to deliver our scabby cheese in a timely fashion. The “inebriated bus” in front should have warned us the wine would be tragically low-quality, but the broken, spider-webbed bathrooms and nearby cigarette smoke sealed the deal. Don’t forget your wasp spray.Their horrible 12-inch cheese pizza was $18.00 and actually less than 11 inches. I must be a freaking idiot for paying that much. They were late to notify us that our sub-par disc left the microwave. This was not a homemade pie, mind you. Costco’s Kirkland pizzas are larger, tastier, and three dollars. Not that I visited for pizza, but this winery held our tots’ tummies hostage50 family tables and no playground?! What a missed opportunity. $40 for a bottle of weird, and be sure to stay under 5 MPH after you drink
Came for a tasting and the wines were good! They do the tastings at the counter and give you descriptions as they pour. All of the staff was very nice and attentive. Great place for tastings if you like low sugar wines. You also get to take your wine glass home with you. The venue itself is beautiful! Out in the adults only patio and yard, there are plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy the view of the vineyards. It's gorgeous! And when we went there was nice live music. And the preserved foundation of a house built before the prohibition was very cool. We want to come back again for some wine and food with friends.
The landscape is beautiful enjoying with friends spacious tables all outdoors. I loved it because everything is clean and full of a lot of nature and also the wine that is delicious and also listening to the concert???????️??
Just want to say at the start that the 4 star rating is not due to the quality of the wine. Rather it's due to the fairly high cost for both wines and tasting along with some of their other rules about no coolers, comments on kids, pets, etc. Just doesn't come across as very friendly. We did a tasting of 6 wines, 2 white, 1 rose, and 3 reds, for $18 each and a bottle of wine is $30+ each. So for 6 wines per tasting this is hands down the most I've ever paid for a tasting in VA (a LOT), CA, AZ, NY, SC, NC, IN, KY, MI, GA, PA, WV, and TX. To be fair the wines we tasted were very good, but there just wasn't that many for the cost. We did have a very nice person doing the pours and the pours were generous. My personal favorite was definitely the Chardonnay. They have a very nice tasting area with both indoor and outdoor seating. No kitchen here (or food trucks the day I was there) but some munchies in a cooler for purchase.
