Hickory Ridge - Chambersburg

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The waitress was incredibly friendly and engaged with us throughout our visit. She really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. My 2-year-old son, who is usually quite shy, ended up interacting with her and absolutely loved her, which truly amazed my husband and me. I can't praise our waitress enough; she even wore a superhero apron! Thank you for such a lovely dining experience! My family and I will definitely be returning. The food was great too—very much like a comforting home-cooked country meal.

As for my honey fried chicken, it was so delicious that I was almost halfway through before I remembered I had some honey BBQ sauce to dip it in! I really appreciated that the coating wasn't a heavy blanket of breading; the light, crispy texture was just right. I also had the broccoli and onion rings. Next time, I might ask for the onion rings to be fried a bit lighter because they were almost overcooked. Oh, and we also ordered their corn nuggets—so tasty! And as an added bonus, they treated us to a couple of freshly baked biscuits accompanied by their homemade apple butter.

I added this restaurant to my 'Favorites' on Google Maps today. We tried the brisket and BBQ chicken, and both dishes were packed with flavor—just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The staff were friendly, and their apple butter completely changed our perception of what good apple butter should taste like; we even ended up taking a jar home! The restaurant features a charming country décor, neatly presented without clutter on the walls. I loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back!

We make it a point to eat there every time we pass through the area.
