Hawthorne Wood - Chapel Hill

The food and drinks were tasty, but we were concerned about the unsanitary conditions at the bar. The bartender handled the large ice cubes and boxed our dessert with bare fingers. We will just stick to wine next time!

I had dinner at this restaurant recently and it was fantastic! The cocktails, wine selection, and food were all amazing. The standout was our waiter Tom, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Cliff, the bartender, also made delicious cocktails, with my favorite being the “vieux carre.” The food, especially the scallops, was some of the best we've had in Chapel Hill. The waitstaff were also very welcoming and friendly. It's rare to find delicious food in a nice setting without it being too pretentious. This restaurant is a hidden gem and we will definitely be returning.

One of the best restaurants in the triangle area. The service is excellent and the food is always fantastic. Their burger is surprisingly delicious.

I'm almost giddy thinking back on the epic meal we just had at this place and are already planning a trip back. There aren't many places we add to our repeat list but this one made it. It's rare that I've been more impressed with a meal. It all starts and ends with the geniuses at the bar who mix some of the most epic concoctions. From there, the menu isn't overflowing with options, mind you, but there's a reason: every dish we had was perfection and unique to the in season ingredients. The magic and care the chefs put towards their dishes is evident in every bite. We were blown away by the crusty bread and local cheese charcuterie and followed that up with a new fave of mine: the pork shoulder first course. The scallop and double cut pork chop main courses were both memorable, as was their outstanding and interesting wine list that added lots of depth to the already amazing food dishes. What a gem in Chapel Hill.
