Located across the street from the river, this is a hidden gem! We got the seafood chowder (very fresh seafood cooked just right) and daily special (haddock with spinach velour sauce and creamed sweet potatoes). Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 Flavors were wonderful, but unfortunately French cooking doesn't instagram well.
Excellent food and great service! Love that you can bring your own wine. Call ahead to reserve in advance. Very busy spot! Highly recommended! Oh and give the onion soup a try! :
Oh, my. Can I have an extra star? If you are reading this from the highway, get off! Turn off that highway, make the turn into Charlo. Never mind about taking a little extra time...it will be worth it. You will have a meal that you will remember for a l-o-n-g time. We took the turn, and then made a wrong turn in Charlo. It took us miles out of our way. We turned around and came back. He grumbled and huffed all the way, but, when we pulled up to the front parking of this little gem, he started to smile. He won't huff next time I suggest a turn off, I'll bet. He had the best French onion soup he has ever had. And he's had it everywhere except France. And I am unable to find a superlative to describe the soup du jour...it was a carrot-grapefruit-ginger purée, with a drizzle of cream. We then shared an entrée of a creamed seafood with house made croutons, garnished with steamed baby carrots and rice, and a side of steamed broccoli. Then, we shared a piece of triple berry pie. Oh, my. Please, can I have an extra star!?!?
The food here is delicious! We went to dalhousie New Brunswick and couldn't find a nice restaurant there. This one came up from yelp and we decided to check it out. What a nice experience! Staff was very friendly and we loved the home cooking flavor with professional plating. I had breakfast burrito and my wife had sole. Both were delicious!
I love this restaurant! It's quite tiny, only about 20 seats or less, but what it lacks in space it makes up for with great food. It also has a small menu, but they have specials every day they are open, and are usually what you should order, because they are extra special. When we visited the special was a curried seafood newburg. The seafood is always exceptional here, so give it a try. The house poppy seed dressing is a bit sweet, but balanced. And for goodness sakes, have a piece of pie. I do not like dessert, but the butterscotch pie is out of this world! It's not too sweet, the crust is perfect, and the homemade real whipped cream well, that says it all right? All the desserts are made in house with real ingredients. Bring your own wine, they don't have a license...that saves money and makes sure that you're drinking what you like. This is the best food around for at least 100 kms!
