Knowing that it would likely be busy, I ordered online at about 1000 for pickup. I went at about 1010 on a Saturday morning. When I got there I still had to wait in the line even though my order was prepaid. By the time I got to the counter it was 1030. The person that waited on me was friendly but they asked me where my order was located in the store which struck me as odd... Turns out that my order hadn't been picked yet. I've traveled NYC, London, Paris and couldn't find a better bakery. Our go-to especially if we have out of town guests. If you're local make sure to try the pizza dough as well!

Fantastic bakery with even nicer people. We stopped in twice on our visit to Charlottesville the pastries were that good! Highly recommend the apricot Danish, chocolate croissants, and above all else the cream puffs, the Bavarian cream was the best I have ever had! Don't walk, run to ABC, and then enjoy a treat, guilt free ????

4.5 stars for the cakes and 1 for the customer service, which lends the final three stars for my experience at ABC. The store is renowned for its cakes, bread, and pastries, which is well demonstrated by the variety of pastry choices you can find in the store. They have seasonal cakes (Raspberry Wonder for summer and The Shenandoah for fall) that speak for the chef's creativity. Stopped by to pick up a few treats while in town. The staff are friendly and efficient and happy to help you select what you want. We tried the lemon blueberry scone and it was moist, full of juicy blueberries, and a perfect density. The lemon wasn?t overpowering and the blueberries were ripe and tart Also picked up a key lime tart and cherry tart. Both look just as delicious.
