Shadwell's - Charlottesville

My husband and I have eaten here at least 10 times I have tried to get something different each time because the food is so good I have never had a bad meal! Their burger is one of the best burger 's I have ever eaten (they house grind their beef and mix in filet, sirloin, and something else to make it so the burger is SO tender . Their ribs are slow cooked all day long and fall off the bone! Their fish and chips are amazing. Their steak is perfect! (I have to eat well done right now because I 'm pregnant usually I get rare or medium rare and it was even juicy and tender cooked like this, (which to me is impressive! They have incredible yeast rolls and homemade ranch dressing on fresh salads! We have tried their mushroom appetizers as well as their bread pudding both of which were incredible! The wait staff are very friendly also and remember us from each time we come in! I love that this place is reasonably priced but is a 'date night ' kind of place! ... And you definitely get your money 's worth. (Only complaints... the elevator music (Paul Abdul style and from time to time a little too much salt on the fries. Give them a try you won 't regret it!

As regulars we decided to dine here for Mothers Day. Our server that we started with was horrible, rude, and very unprofessional. Considering that we had been in the past and knew this wasn't the norm we explained the situation to the manager (who is also a owner). He went above and beyond to make sure that the rest of our lunch was a wonderful dining experience. We were taken care of with top notch service after that. Management and most of the staff at Shadwells really do value customer service, if you get otherwise just explain the issue and they will more than make up for it. Food as usual was excellent, especially considering the price point. What could have resulted in a horrible start to Mothers Day was quickly turned around, and ensured that we will continue to dine at and recommend Shadwells.

I was very impressed with the food and service for Valentine's Day dinner. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive to our needs. As busy as they were for the special day, we never felt rushed or ignored by the staff. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food...Thank you Shadwells for making our night special, from Dinner to Dessert!!!

Our lunch was delicious, the menu is varied, the server was efficient friendly (but not chatty which is annoying), and parking is convenient. Met with 3 friends we agreed we would repeat. This new Shadwell's Rstaurant is a welcome addition to the Pantops area.

Both the food and service are great!! Bring bach the Shrimp and Grits. It is my favorite, but I've loved every meal!
