The Red Lantern - Charlottesville

I love the food at Red Lantern. It's always fresh and hot and I feel like I get a good amount for my money. I miss being able to dine in and the parking lot is always full but the food is worth the small inconvenience

They 've upped their game over the last few years to really become the best take-out Chinese in town. I think Peter Chang 's is pretty great, too, but they 're also a different kind of restaurant, I feel. Red Lantern still has that take-out Chinese food taste to it. Hard to describe what that is, but if you know, you know. Food is really great quality. Staff is nice and friendly. I couldn 't give 5 stars, though, because of the wait. I placed my most recent order in person

Red Lantern is one of the BEST Chinese restaurants all around. The staff are so very nice and it is unbelievable that they are not 5 stars yet. Go support them, they?re amazing!

This was my first visit and I will be back, and I am recommending that others go. I was going to eat there but found that, right now, it is only takeout. Okay with me then. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, egg drop soup (what I really wanted), and a canned drink. Service was friendly and quick (10 minutes). I didn't have to wait to order. The chicken was bland no seasoning, the steak was bland no seasoning the noodles tasted like water. I've traveled all over the world this was top 3 worst asian restaurants I every patronized.
