The Anchor Inn - Charnwood

I visited the pub with my child who chose it because it had a bouncy castle in Hathern. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the experience. I ordered food at the bar while my friend stayed with our children at the table where we were given menus. I placed my order first, but my friend was told she would have to wait for an hour. The staff did not communicate this wait time beforehand, causing our party to be separated. The food I received was frozen and overpriced. The starters I ordered were small and unappetizing, not freshly made. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. When we ordered desserts, we requested them to be brought to the garden, which again seemed like a lot to ask for. Despite these issues, my son enjoyed his food, the bouncy castle, and play equipment in the garden. However, we had to leave quickly as the garden started smelling of weed.

This restaurant is fantastic - the staff is excellent and the food is top-notch. It's a perfect spot for a family gathering or meeting up with friends. The garden area is absolutely stunning. Thank you to Kelly and Rob for a wonderful experience.

I recently had a pre-Christmas dinner at this restaurant and it was fantastic. The staff were lovely and the food was plentiful, fresh, and of high quality. I appreciated that they allowed us to take a break between our main course and dessert.

Amazing friendly pub that serves fantastic home cooked food, and with care! Kelly Rob work hard so you have a great time, nothing is too much hassle and it’s such a friendly atmosphere!

We visited The Anchor on Christmas Eve for our Mum’s birthday and had such a good time! The food was great…all homemade and cooked to perfection, but what made the evening for us was how welcoming everyone was! The landlord came over (after we’d finished eating , introduced himself and stayed for a chat even though it was his night off we had a lovely chat with his wife too. The Bar Manager was equally as friendly and welcoming…it felt like we’d know her for ages, not 2 hours and there were hugs when we left : We will definitely be back and would recommend this pub to anyone. Thanks for a great evening guys!
