McCarthy‘s - Chateau-D'Oex

We had a disappointing visit here. Had to wait for ages for a simple burger which sadly I couldn't eat, the meat was so rubbery. The bun was good. Maybe we went on a bad day. Nice atmosphere and pleasant host.

Great place for food. They were busy when we went, so had stopped table service, but now do a buffet version, but I certainly didn't feel like we were missing out, and was great value. Drinks and desserts were still available to order. I read through the menu and it sounded amazing, not just your regular burger restaurant. A lovely family run place, where they genuinely care, with a great atmosphere. Right near a train stop also which was great for us to ride out when staying in a nearby town.

Highly recommended. Personalised, homemade burgers and excellent homemade ice tea. Great, friendly service and a charming interior. Family and dog friendly.

We ended up in McCarthys by chance and we were thrilled by our meals. You can choose your burger and all additions to it. Food is excellent. Lovely salads as well!We all loved our different burgers and the salads and the fries and the onion rings !Service is extremely welcoming and family friendly. We had three lively loud kids and a dog and we felt very welcome. Different choices of beverages and homemade drinks. There is a kids area (very convenient!.) Free wifi available as well. If weather permits, there is a lovely Terrace and a kids playground. Parking spaces available across the street. If we can, we will definitely come back.

Stoped here today with a few mates while biking from Switzerland to France . It was a chance stop in that we were just looking for a random place to have a break .It's set in a stunning valley and has plenty of parking across the roadWhen we went in it was empty - it was 1 pm which seemed a little odd , however , a young guy appeared ( who spoke good English ) and was very helpful. We all went for the "Special Burger" which was fantastic ( see the photo ! ) The place is spotless , the service was good and I would recompense this as a pit stop if you are heading that way .
