It was one of my dads favorite places and he was so happy to see it reopen after it had been closed for a few years. The new owners did a lot of work...cleaning, painting, redoing the fireplace, installing a tin ceiling, new furniture, rebuilt outdoor deck etc etc. They've also started taco Tuesdays and brought back Friday fish fries. All of the food I've had there has been excellent! They also have a good variety of beers on tap including IPAs which are my favorite. If you're passing through Chatham and want a good meal or a nice cold beer I'd encourage you to stop and give them your business. You'll be glad you did!
Firstly, I 'm a different 'Joe S. ' When in Chatham, there 's not a whole lot of offerings, so the Village Pub, under new management, is your choice for food and drink. Tammy and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Before the Pub closed, this place was nothing special, but now, after an extensive remodel, the Village Pub looks very much the same, but a heck of a lot cleaner. The menu didn 't change so much, but the food is much better. Friday fish fry is a must have. Food is good, typical pub-type food. You 're not going to be blown away by anything fancy, but it 's good food, served fast, and with a smile. In the winter, this place is a perfect stop for snowmobilers, right off the path, plenty of room to park and a fireplace to warm your gear. Besides a full bar, their beer offerings are getting more adventurous from the standard U.P. favorite Busch Light, by including some locally brewed craft beers. Also, not to be missed is an Apple Pie shot. It 'll warm you up in even the coldest of Chatham winters. One last note, they 're closed on Mondays, because everyone needs a day off.
We stopped here after I was tipped off that they rent yaktrax for $5- since this place is pretty much right around the corner from the Eben ice caves, we stopped in and were able to rent them quickly and easily! After seeing the ice caves (which are amazing and well worth the trip!! , we were happy to head back here, turn in our cleats, and grab some food and drinks before driving back to Marquette. Everything tasted great, the prices were good, and everyone was super friendly. Would definitely do this exact same plan again on future trips!
Great little bar! Located in a small town but the food is amazing and has great fish fries on Friday nights! Definitely a little gem of a bar.
We were looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs. We thought, why not! It doesn't look like much from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised. We had the philly steak sandwich and it was sooo good! The bartender/waitress was so friendly! We would totally go back!
