While the owner suggested trying the family dinners, we opted to choose from the menu for more variety. The Sliced Beef with Chinese Greens was tasty, the Fortune Express Special Chow Mein was decent, but the standout was the Soo Chow Har Kue (breaded shrimp with mushrooms and vegetables). I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is okay. Wrong! How do you justify that? I called and ordered a lot of food for 12 hungry people (over $100 value) and that gave me a price just to call me 5 minutes later and...say that would not honor their free delivery that is clearly printed on the menu. You would rather cancel the order than eat the cost of $3,75 on a huge order. The woman who answered the phone was uninformed and unaccommodating. Overall terrible experience and I immediately fired the flyer (the new and old) with the food containers. I'd never order again and I wouldn't have a chance to eat here.
Fortune Express is conveniently located near the bus depot, offering both pick-up and delivery services. They offer meals that cater to different group sizes and provide delicious options. In addition to their tasty menu, they also have Canadian food available.
I just went to Fortune Express and had the worst Chinese food ever! I had a dinner for one with chicken balls. The chicken balls were dark brown and burned. The fried rice was almost black in color and tasted burned. I also asked about... hot sauce and was told they don't have hot sauce! Which Chinese restaurant does not wear hot sauce. Absolutely this restaurant would not recommend anyone!
My wife, business partner and I decided to order in while working. My wife had been to Fortune Express years ago and suggested we order from them. The 3 combos were around $30 plus tax which is pretty standard for Chatham. The trouble began when...I opened my shrimp combo plate to see 2 medium size shrimp on a bed of mushroom rice and chicken chop suey and an egg roll. I called to inquire as I had never been given less then 4 shrimp. I was told that's the portion. The food was average at best and we didn't even get fortune cookies. Ironic, considering their name. I don't recommend Fortune Express.
