When Hawker Lane opened this place had queues galore and I finally managed to get in when it was a little quieter. It's a fantastic dark wooden interior and I loved siting in the venue to eat. It's a little oasis removed from shopping centre towards the back of Hawker Lane. I only managed a small lunch for one but ordered the miso and pork bone broth ramen with teriyaki chicken. Fantastic deal - they offer four choices for broth. Pork bone, chicken and soy, chicken and miso and pork bone and broth. I tried out the miso and pork bone broth because I had never had it before and I quite enjoyed it - quite a strong flavour - like a heavy miso. The teriyaki chicken on the side is very hard to mess up and it was as delightful as you would imagine. The patronage has settled down quite a lot in Hawker Lane as a whole but the meal game is still strong. As a food area Chatswood is impressive and Asian heavy, Hawker Lane offers many treats worthy of feasting, Makanai among them.
Ordered the makanai ramen which said you get a bit of everything and was the most popular. Paid $16.90 for one small piece of chicken and one small piece of pork with an over cooked egg with the noodles. The soup was passable but have had far better in many other places that charged a whole lot less. Avoid.
Pretty much the subject line. Try pay in cash though because a surcharge applies on cards. The lady who took my order was really friendly. Had takoyaki and ajitama ramen. Will come back again.
I've been going to this place even before Chatswood had all of their renovations going on and this place has got the best ramen! The teriyaki ramen with the Shoyu broth is definitely my fave. The staff are so friendly too and they also serve curry, udon and other side foods like Takoyaki. Definitely recommend!
Makanani Ramen Noodle House locates at Chatswood Westfield food court at LG level. The service is very efficient like in Japan. The Noodle is the best, the price is reasonable and quality is very similar to have handmade noodle in Japan, the noodle soup is sooooo delicious. If you don't have chance to travel to Japan, and you don't want to spend too much money on Japanese Noodle, this is the best choice in Sydney. We love Japanese noodle, we also travelled to Japan many times, we always try different Japanese Noodle in Sydney, this noodle house is the choice that we love. We have lunch here every Weekend, it is just a fine Japanese Noodle house.
