Overall, well below what we expected of a Chautauqua food establishment. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
The food is terrible and way overpriced. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs. A tiny, bad-tasting hamburger cost me $11 dollars, and a terrible-tasting roast beef sandwich I pulled out a refrigerator cost me $13. On top of this, the burger I ordered took 15 minutes to be prepared and brought to me. I understand that they're short staffed, but that's hardly an excuse when every other restaurant I've been to in the area has been able to get my food out far quicker. The only semi decent thing about this establishment is the ice cream, and that's because they don't make it.
Poor service food premade so salads were not fresh avocados were blackening and no salad dressing. Prices half again the amount listed on the web menu. Not at all worth it
A Chautauqua Institution tradition. Have been coming here for as long as I can remember and they are always have great ice cream and friendly staff. The portions are generous. I appreciate that they serve Hershey’s ice cream, instead of Perry’s like many other places on the lake. Will definitely be returning soon!
A very nice cafe at Chautauqua Institute. The wait staff could have been a little better.
