The rooms were just right for our fishing trip. I faced some issues with my iPad, and they were kind enough to take time out of their day to assist me. The food was exceptional. I can't praise the entire experience enough. My husband and I are definitely planning to return.
On the morning of our checkout, we visited the office to reserve the same camps for a weekend in June. Camp 8 was available, but Camp 9 was not. The woman at the front desk told us she could move the person in Camp 9 to Camp 10, so we could all stay together. She crossed out the other name and added mine for the dates we wanted, successfully securing our spot in Camp 9. However, I called today to confirm our reservation, only to find that my name had been removed from Camp 9, and no one seemed concerned about it. I asked if someone could review the security footage, but was told, "It is what it is." I later learned from an insider that my camp had been given to someone else due to a special event. Despite how much fun we had during our stay, we will NEVER return to this place. This has caused significant inconvenience, as we have family members who purchased airline tickets and now have no plans. I urge others to think twice before visiting!
This is a really impressive restaurant with plenty of space, located right on the water at the end of the strip of land leading to the Gulf. We all enjoyed our meals there. The scenic drive to reach it was one of the highlights of our trip, especially since it was along one of the few well-maintained roads we experienced during our rides around and out of Morgan City.
The service was quite slow, and the waitress seemed overwhelmed. Our food took an excessively long time to arrive. We were a party of ten, and half of us had eaten before the rest received our meals. The drinks and refills also took a while to come. When some of the food finally arrived, it was cold and burnt. Specifically, three hamburger steaks and a hamburger were overcooked.
This restaurant is on the path to greatness! With a new owner at the helm, there have been long-overdue improvements to the facility. The food is quite good, and the portion sizes have definitely increased since the previous management. Our service was excellent; our server was friendly, personable, and clearly enjoyed her job. I can't give it a full 5-star rating just yet because there was a lengthy delay in receiving our main courses after we finished our appetizers. I suspect the kitchen was understaffed to accommodate our party of 13, along with around 25 other diners that evening. Nevertheless, we plan to dine here often for lunch or dinner, especially as spring and summer will have us spending time at our camp and enjoying life! We look forward to our next visit.
