The Angel - Chelmsford

Lovely staff and food good value for money would highly recommend

Our OpenTable booking failed as The Angel had no record of our booking but were able to accommodate us. Surroundings nice. Waitress friendly. Service diabolical. Slow (short-staffed maybe) and missing expected things like cutlery on the table, no offer of plates when we had sharing starters. Food took forever to come and arrived in dribs and drabs with long gaps in between. Food was overpriced and standard was low. My steak was tough and the worst I have had in a long time. Others in our group weren't impressed with their choices either. Definately won't bother again. Very disappointing.

I visited the angel for for my partners birthday we was a group of 38 including 12 children The staff were super accommodating all our food arrived at the same time , all our orders were correct and hot which is not an easy task getting nearly 40 meals ready at the same time. We had such a great night the atmosphere of the pub is great the staff are very friendly and helpful and food was really good.

The last time I went in this pub was 21 years ago, went there with a very good friend an we had a few drinks and some cooked bar food. the food was lovely, the pub is still very cosy and welcoming with the open fires, staff were very friendly as well, will be going back and would recommend.
