Thankfully, the food at Tambo22 had a modern take on Peruvian cuisine, but the flavors were beautifully blended and the ingredients, familiar enough to feel like a Peruvian chef’s creation. My daughter said it was way better than the best pizza she’s ever had which is quite a statement : . There were so many moments where she was closing her eyes to experience the orchestra of flavors in our mouths. This momma heart and taste pallet were in heaven as well!We were especially surprised by the Ceviche Tarwi made of lupini beans with the leche de tigre that we used to soak up delicious bites of yucca frita, and the fact that their new take on causa actually included the traditional papa amarilla! Woohoo! Also even though I don’t think churros are Peruvian, that desert with the dulce de leche is a must here! (Alfajores perhaps not so much for our taste. Perhaps best purchased from Frio Rico corner store nearby or Machu Picchu restaurant .The server was a little aloof, which I would expect more given the higher price point, but I am giving it 5 stars because the food is what matters most.*no shade on the other Peruvian restaurants in MA, as it’s hard to keep a business going without adapting the recipes for many US American customers a bit.
I had an amazing time at this restaurant! ?️ The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The only slight hiccup was that the tip was included on the receipt and then mentioned again at the end. Aside from that, everything was perfect, and I'm looking forward to my next visit! ?? ? ?New 08-09-23I highly appreciate it when a company immediately identifies a solution. Thank you very much for the response.
Tambo 22's food is as delicious as its staff is kind, and its vibe is awesome. Although a bit of a ways out of Boston, it's worth the short trip everytime.
GoToThisRestaurantYour tastebuds will thank you. I’ve been a big fan of José Duarte and Chris Titus for more than a decade. They’ve done it again! I miss Taranta, but Tambo 22 takes Peruvian food to the next level. No one else focuses on this cuisine quite like José, and his curated dishes are dynamite. I had the Trout for a main course and I promise you, there isn’t a more beautiful presentation.Big shout out to Taylor and Brian Corcoran, who are also behind this singular sensation. Thank you for an amazing meal!
I would give 10 stars if I could! This is our go-to place for out of town guests, special dates, and even take out (the aji de gallina en tazon is pure comfort I swear it can heal any stress). I love the salmon when dining in! It’s just as good if not better than when they first opened!!
