I had lunch on the terrace in early October. It was my first time in Ottawa. The terrace had a great view of a large lawn from a bygone era. The service was a bit slow, but the food was decent, though not outstanding. The dessert was excellent. The waiter was friendly and efficiently handled everything by himself - filling water glasses, checking in and out, and serving dishes. The lamb dish was nothing to write home about. The prices were on the higher side, but it was worth it to sit on the terrace. The dining room seemed small and dark, possibly not worth the premium prices. I recommend going to the terrace!
The Tea Room is not easily accessible, especially for those with limited mobility. Additionally, the dining experience was disappointing and considered to be overpriced.
We visited the teehouse for a special occasion (motherday 2017). I knew in advance that the contractor changed last year and we were interested in meeting the new owner? tegan their partners are contagious and responsive. important, almost all. ingredients for the afternoon tea service are made on site. the Scenarios (2 per guest) were miraculous. the heavenly jam was beautifully flavored not too sweet. the service was relaxed and friendly. thank you. mathew. the finger sandwiches were delicious and made with smoked salmon. nice! we met near 2 h later and happy to know that the teehouse is now in good hands. Thank you. tegan.
My family of 2 adults and 3 children went to the restaurant for lunch in September without a reservation. We were seated even though there were 2 large groups dining, so the waiters were very busy. Our server promptly brought out the children's meals, which they loved - grilled cheese with vegetables and hummus. Our meals came with soup and salad, and I had the quiche while my husband had the smoked meat. Both dishes were excellent. To finish off our meal, we shared a chocolate cake and pudding chomeur, both of which were absolutely delicious. Although the lunch was a bit pricey, the quality of the food made it worth it.
