Royal Oak - Cheltenham Racecourse

Very welcoming as we were worried about our muddy dog!! Good local beverages to choose from as well. Nice fireplaces to keep you warm on a cold day. And the food was great. We visited at lunchtime and had a tomato and mozzarella sandwich and a flatbread with prosciutto and garlic and we could not fault either. Great facility. Great manor house with history. Very nice employees. Unfortunately, the snack is not necessarily recommended too expensive for poor quality. Pity. That could have rounded off the visit very well. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Food is of a consistently high quality, but today it wasn't hot when brought to us, one star lost for that. The amount of ice cream accompaniment on the desserts is a bit stingy for the price not even one scoop. Service is efficient when it comes, but too often there are long gaps when no one shows it took quite a while for us to get mint sauce and horseradish brought to us because no one was around to ask (should have been brought with the meals in the first place! .
