Madurai Pandian Mess - Chennai

I have never been to this restaurant but ordered their food online. Their Mutton gravy is a must try so as the prawn fry, squid fry, boti fry. But chicken and fish gravy are kinda okay..

A no-frills place in bustling Pondy Bazaar, this place serves delicacies from Madurai and is my go-to lunch place whenever I'm in the area. Have tried their meals and biryani multiple times and I've absolutely no complaints,be it the service or the food, everything I've tasted here is really good.<br/ <br/ They give a no of gravies to try along with the meals, like chicken gravy,mutton gravy,crab gravy etc. Each of these are really good and among the side dishes, the Karandi omelette, Mutton Sukka, brain fry, liver fry are my recommendations. A must try place if you love a bit of spice or even more in your food. Best part is there's that homely taste which doesn't leave any burning feeling in your stomach,unlike many other eateries. Everything tastes so fresh and awesome. Must try for everyone.<br/ <br/ Sorry I can't upload any photos as every single time I'm there, I decide that this time I'll click some for uploading, but then the food comes and I'll happily dig in,only to realise at the end of it that I forgot all about pictures this time too. This place wasn’t planned but accidental. The word mess says it all. Please do not expect a 5 star range ambience and the interiors. I entered this place which on first floor in great hunger and ordered chicken briyani, brain roast and mutton chukka. Mmm mm! The taste was exceptional. I don’t order mutton brain roast outside instead prefer the home cooked but here it was super good. I have never tasted anything like that. And off course briyani and mutton chukka were also great.

Mess I totally enjoy these types of mess food because you will definitely get an authentic taste ! One thing about the mess food is that they will serve food in banana leaf<br/ <br/ Place:<br/ It is decent place to have food ! Ambience are maintained up in a good manner clean and neat food is provided <br/ <br/ Food: We are unlucky cause by the time we reach the place the briyaani and parotta's were over So we have no option other than the meals !<br/ <br/ Meals: Fish curry and chicken curry were yummy ! Spinach and indian broad beans (avarakkai) were good too ! Sambar,rasam and buttermilk tasted like home-made dish ! Totally worth the price <br/ <br/ Side dish :<br/ Prawn masala : oh yummy and awe dish I had Many pieces of huge prawns and it's typical home made dish ! Definitely you have to try this great dish <br/ <br/ Kola urundai : It's great one but kinda burnt It could have been better !<br/ <br/ Kalaki: Drooling dish omg !! The chicken curry on the kalai which takes the dish to next level !<br/ <br/ Cost is efficient and tummy will be fulled<br/ <br/

Ambience is kind of mess don't expect too much it's normal small level place but get hype on their food is really really good... Yummieeeee... I have been there for dinner.. they served hot idlies with chicken salna OMG I really really loved it had more than 4 idlies.. masala kalaki is awesome guys must try.. parathas are soft.. Egg Briyani, vanjaram (seer fish) fry, prawn fry everything is excellent.. I would suggest parcel because seating is not much comfortable..
