Wok Sun - Cherbourg-en-Cotentin

Have passed this restaurant often and visited for the first time a few days ago. We were impressed by the great selection and variety both hot and cold meat and fish, including green lip shells, oysters, escargots, king prawns her name... it was there. The only negative for me was that the temperature of the prepared hot dishes was not hot enough, often with buffets. However, there was a good choice of fish and meat that cook or stir the cook for you. Wide range of powders also, including ice creams. At just 21 euros in the evening it was a good value for money.

This restaurant has a large buffet with a good selection of cold seafood, meat, salads, vegetables and deserts. There is also a cook on hand to cook fresh seafood and meat. Staff were freendly and you will certainly receive value for money.

The decor and ambiance here had a more up market feel than many Chinese buffets. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Buffets are never as good as freshly cooked food, and here was no exception. However, they did a good job of keeping food warm...without drying it out. It's popularity helped as it meant a regular refresh. Perhaps the best thing though was the impressive range of food available. It included sushi, typical buffet items, salad, roast joints of meat that you could carve yourself, and uncooked meat and fish that would be cooked to order and served with a choice of sauce. A selection of desserts available too. All very impressive. If you like a variety of foods, this must be the best in Cherbourg.

An amazing family meal for 4, cocktails for the adults, a vast array of extremely fresh food and wonderful service all for €80 highly recommended.

I research this thoroughly so set off to give it a recce before booking. Avoided the somewhat intimidating loitering young folk at the Eléis entrances. Only to find that it is closed for what looks like a pretty comprehensive refurbishment. Will try again next time...we’re in Cherbourg!
