What a great little place! On our way to Fredericksburg we drove through Cherokee and found this little gem. The burgers were amazing and fresh. It's hard to find a good old fashion hamburger these days but you can definitely get it here. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. If you find yourself out that way I would highly recommend making this a stop.
We blew into town as we made our way home from a long road trip, hoping to eat at a different restaurant, but when that one fell through we took a chance on the Cherokee Cafe. The staff were so warm and hospitable, and the place was clean and recently renovated. It was Friday night, all you can eat catfish night and good graciouswas it delicious. The fish was seasoned perfectly, and all of the sides were homemade, from fried okra, to the potato salad! To top it all off, they offered us wonderful homemade peach cobbler and blackberry cobbler for dessert. Can't say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant. We took a gamble by stopping here blindly, and are so so glad we did.
Best burger in town! The owner is a very hard working, sweet lady that cares about her town, her customers, and her food. The wings are delicious and I heard the chicken salad is awesome.
We stopped in during a mid day break from hunting to meet friends who are regulars here and they are from Austin and Houston (that should tell you something right there). We had the 1/2 lb burgers, which were delicious, and got hungry all over again as our friends described the weekend steaks and fried catfish specials for $10. BYOB/wine with those prices for food makes this a Destination Restaurant!
