Cafe On The Bay - Chesapeake City

Cafe on the Bay is our favorite breakfast destination! The food and service are excellent, and the outdoor seating offers a fantastic view. We truly enjoy everything about this place! The mobile ordering option is also a great benefit for those busy weekends when you want to grab something quickly.

What a delightful café! Opening at 6:30 AM, it’s virtually the only spot in town for breakfast. You can easily boat up to the public docks and take a short walk to the café. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming! Their simple sandwiches, wraps, and stacks are absolutely delicious. They offer a wide range of specialty coffee drinks—both hot and cold—as well as a tempting selection of baked goods. I highly recommend the Screaming Eagle and blueberry scone—they're fantastic! Strolling around Chesapeake City is enjoyable at any time of day or year; it’s such a charming, historic little town!

The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the location is fantastic.

This shop has, in my opinion, the best coffee in the county. I'm a black coffee (hot or iced) or at my most complex a red eye guy, while my wife gets the more complicated drinks; either way, we both love it and so do our daughters for hot chocolates or sometimes a small latte. It's about 15 minutes from my house, and we pass several spots heading down 213 to get to Cafe on the Bay. Add to that, they have nice baked goods and their food is excellent. I usually get something simple, like sausage, egg, and cheese on pretzel roll, but my wife enjoys the vegetarian options. They also have pretty solid cheesesteaks for lunch. As others have said, it's a nice place to sit and have a chat, and then take a little lap around town while you sip. The service is always fast and the woman who owns it takes the time to know the folks who come in while still keeping it moving.
