Passion meets Promise with this hidden gem in Chesapeake, Va! For a date night that Is quiet and elegant it really does not get much better than Passion. It is in the Greenbrier Pkwy area of Chesapeake. What is good about this establishment is that they do offer reservations and anytime you want to plan a nice night out, reservations should be the first thing you ask a restaurant. They were flexible with our arrival time and seating choice. For my drink I had the Malibu Beach Rum, which was really good. Usually, martinis are not that strong, but this had some serious kick to it without sacrificing any of the sweetness to it. The price was around 13 dollars which is what you expect with premium vodka and rum. There was nothing cheap about this drink. Concentrated and smooth, a slow drink mix. The interior really made for a deep romantic dinner. With the taste of that Malibu beach, I can expect that other cocktails are equally as good. For dinner, I had the Angus steak and fingerling potatoes. I was really wanting mashed potatoes, but these fingerling potatoes really grew on me first bite. Seasoned just right, and it was the right portion size. The steak was perfect, no other words but just perfect. This steak was made with passion. It was topped with black pepper corn that really made all the difference. It has been a while since I have had a good steak. The steak came as pictured and advertised. It was such a very nice portion size added with some seasoned asparagus. The steak left me speechless, which is why I am surprised I could even make this review haha. The prices are average steak and seafood prices. Dinner for two could easily be around 80 dollars without drinks. Please take the time and go enjoy this establishment. Go treat yourself and someone else!
We were hoping for a nicer atmosphere, but the seating was pretty bland. The food, however was good, and the service was great.
I was not really happy with the food quality here. I would not call it a fine dining restaurant as they advertise it. I had the rib eye and I ordered it rare. It was most decidedly not rare probably closer to medium and the cut of steak did not seem to be premium to me. I like steak and this steak was not great. For food alone I would have to give this establishment 2 stars. That being said we were traveling from Pa to the outer banks and staying in Chesapeake for 1 night on our way. The atmosphere here was very nice and I had 3 glasses of house Malbec which I have to say tasted good. Also sitting outside on the patio was nice after driving all day. The server really made our meal. She was very friendly and accommodating. I could not send the steak back with such a nice server. The bottom line is this place is expensive for what it is and the food is not the best. However the friendliness of the staff made up for the shortcomings. I had to give it 4 stars because I will eat here again when I am back in VA.
This is on of our date night restaurants. I love that their menu is slightly different every time we go and they really have unique dishes on their menu. Everything we have eaten here is very delicious. Their decor might be a little outdated, but the food really makes up for the outdated decor. Their hand crafted drinks were good but a little strong for me, I am a light weight. I usually stick to their wine suggestions.
