The Bypass - Chesapeake

This is my favorite spot to stop at while biking. The food is incredible, and the drinks are fantastic. During our last visit, there were several couples dining, and they all praised the food. I can't wait to go back!

I really enjoyed my visit. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. The portion sizes were just right, not overwhelming, and the prices were very reasonable. Although we don’t drink, the bar had a nice vibe, and the happy hour deals seemed appealing. We sat next to some regular patrons who assured us everything was great, and they were spot on. The shrimp was enormous, and both the burgers and pork were fantastic.

The food was of exceptional quality—truly five stars. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a restaurant serving perfectly cooked tuna accompanied by a delightful blend of lime and chipotle sauces. The burger had a lovely char on the outside and was juicy on the inside, while the fries were hand-cut and perfectly crispy. My wife ordered the crab cake, which she said was seasoned flawlessly and contained no fillers. She also tried the buffalo cauliflower, which was surprisingly tasty. I highly recommend Bypass 168. It frustrates me that so many people choose to go to Chili's on a Friday night instead of giving this place a chance. You should definitely give it a try; you won’t be disappointed!

A fantastic local spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the crab cakes, while not made with large chunks of crab, are among the best I've ever tasted—definitely in my top three!

That said, my wife ordered a gin and tonic (the last call was at 6:30 p.m.) along with the crab cake meal, opting for a baked potato on the side, while I chose their cheeseburger with fries. Our meals were delicious and left me eager to return when we could enjoy a more leisurely dining experience. The waitress was attentive and checked on us several times. When she inquired about dessert, my wife ordered their strawberry cake to go, which tasted wonderfully homemade. The atmosphere is casual, typical of a bar and grill, and they seem to strictly follow COVID guidelines, with ample space between tables and thorough cleaning after each group. We will definitely be back!
