Golden Pheasant - Cheshire East

We booked in late on a Sunday afternoon for an overnight stay. The restaurant was a mad house with seemingly hundreds of people eating, moving about and talking while the poor staff were rushing about doing their best to serve everyone. By seven o'clock when we came down for our evening meal the restaurant had emptied and the staff were serving just a few tables. We asked what was happening earlier and they said that it had been the busiest Sunday that they could ever remember. Frankly they looked shell shocked and heaven only knows what state the kitchen staff were in. However, they rallied round and found us a quiet table in an alcove and helped us order food. Regrettably there were mistakes with the food but we recognised that the staff were very tired so we were quite content with what we had although it wasn't as good as we expected from the reviews hence the average rating. It was a pleasant overnight stay, the room was excellent and the staff were outstanding.

Lovely stay at this hotel while away working and what can I say staff are very polite and can’t do enough for you. Rooms are nice and big and very clean.

The restaurant is nicely presented with a good layout all on one level. However, my reservation made in September was not registered, causing me to check and rebook upon arrival. The restaurant was busy, but the food was only average. The roast beef was particularly disappointing, as it came as it was with no option to choose how it was cooked. I did not feel it was good value for money. The service was also lacking, with slow and inconsistent service that appeared disorganized. There were not enough experienced staff on the floor. Overall, the restaurant was expensive for what it offered, and I do not plan on returning.

I had a delicious roast dinner at this restaurant with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. It was my first time here and I was very happy with the experience. The garden also looked lovely for summer dining.

I had a pleasant overnight stay at this restaurant, which was conveniently located near my workplace. The room was clean and comfortable, just like my previous visit. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating. The cooked breakfast was delicious, just be sure to specify how you like your eggs cooked.
