Everything was freshly prepared and the service was friendly, even after I arrived 30 minutes later than expected because I got the time wrong. I would highly recommend this place.
My wife and I made a reservation at this café for Afternoon Tea to commemorate our wedding anniversary while we were staying overnight in the nearby town of Warmingham. We had a wonderful experience - the homemade food was outstanding and we received excellent service from a lovely lady, although we forgot to ask for her name. The sandwiches, cakes, and scones were all delicious. Just go and try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Thanks to everyone at Jenny's Tea Shop for a great time.
I had been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while and finally did this past weekend. It's a small place but there was plenty of space when we arrived just after midday on Saturday. The menu had plenty of options, and I ordered a medium breakfast with a cappuccino while my wife had a tuna sandwich with a diet coke. Our drinks and food came out quickly, and my breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. My wife's sandwich was well-presented and tasty. They also had a variety of cakes available, although we didn't try any so I can't comment on their taste. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
Good food ranging from breakfast, at a very good price, to toasties and sandwiches. Cakes are very good and ideal with a hot drink. Nice friendly staff.
I met up with friends at Jenny's Tearoom and we did stay for quite a long time, chatting while eating. I was conscious we were taking up a table with not much food, but no one seemed to mind. My friends each ordered different sandwiches or toasties. One asked for no salad, but was given salad. Another wasn't impressed with the thickness of the granary bread, but overall, they were happy with their food, but felt too full to have cake as well. I ordered a scone, which arrived very warm and with icing sugar on top. When I tasted it, I decided this icing sugar must have been to hide the fact that it was over cooked and had a burnt taste. I don't know why it was warm, it seems an unusual way to serve a scone, as cream doesn't go well on hot food. As the scone was quite small, I decided to have a piece of cake with my second cup of coffee. I was disappointed, though, that skimmed milk wasn't available for my latte. As I have allergies, I was very careful in my choice of cake, but wasn't able to find out much about the cake ingredients when I asked. I chose a raspberry and white chocolate one, which had very little taste and was very heavy. The bit of buttercream in it and the topping were very nice, though. It was a very big slice of cake. I only ate half of it, but it wasn't nice enough to bother taking the rest home. I would have preferred something like cupcakes, with not much cake and a lot of buttercream to have been on offer. I know the cakes are very popular, though, so maybe I was unlucky that I chose a rather dense one. Overall, we had a nice relaxing couple of hours and felt very welcome, but some of the sweet food could have been nicer. I went home a bit disappointed, having been looking forward to the visit for over a month. Despite this, I've given four stars due to the nice staff and it being a pleasant place to meet up.
