We booked the back room for a get together with family and friends and Steve the landlord provided a lovely buffet. It was the perfect venue with a nice beer garden and steps to seating by the canal. It was all ready for us and Steve was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. There was no problem parking nearby and it went really well, I would definitely recommend the Puss in Boots as a venue for a do.
Met with close family for Mothers Day, late lunch. What a lovely surprise on a fine warm sunny day. Great new look and feel to the now renamed Waterside Bistro restaurant side of the pub. We entered via the more traditional pub side, with friendly smiling customers. Also accessible from the canalside, up external steps. The staff team were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and great with all customer groups, to include dogs as part of the family, too. So thanks to Lou and Iain, we enjoyed the experience, delicious hot roasts (various) and laid-back yet efficient service. We can honestly say it is highly recommended
What an Idillic place, Cant wait to sit outside in the sun, I visited with my partner in the evening and it was a little cold outside, but they have a lovely little terrace outside by the river for warmer days. The food was amazing, fresh and home cooked is what they tell you, and it can be seen and tasted when it arrives. The staff are very attentive, its run by a lovely couple who cant do enough for you, and clearly appreciate your custom, a wide selection of drinks available also, with some fantastic Ales, (Doombar) which is rarely found within smaller pubs outside of Cornwall. Since its recent re-brand, it has definitely improved, with more of an emphasis on the local friendly family pub type atmosphere rather than the previously branded viking type, which didn't really fit in with the local community. Ell worth a visit, and an up and coming regular.
The owners are fantastic and such a welcoming pub Great food and lovely atmosphere Definitely worth a visit if you are in town
