Went to a till to order food and was informed I could only order drinks as food was the back of the hall. Settled for a cup of tea and I have sat here for 30 mins trying to figure out the system. Hard luck if it is the only shop you are visiting at the Cheshire Oaks, if visiting others go else where.
Second and last time here M and S are supposed to be high standard.....not !!! Queues were very large at every till and only a few staff to take orders and prepare drinks. Tried to order a Jacket Spud and cheese.....sorry no cheese ??? ....unbelievable ! Try your food hall. Ordered a big brekkie.....it arrived half cold, only the beans were hot and 2 cremated sausages which I asked to get changed, the reluctant staff member replaced them with microwaved half cremated ones......for £9 its not good or value in any café never mind M and S. We turned down the Asda café to drive here .... never again !!! We never saw any obvious supervisors or managers in the café area......with so many people complaining I wonder why not ? Noticed no replies to the reviews ????????
The decaf americano at Cheshire Oaks was scalding hot, weak and watery. I wouldn’t recommend this. I left it on the table.
The Upstairs Cafe has been consistently disappointing for a while now. Unfortunately, there are no other options nearby for lunch or coffee without having to drive. Today's visit was particularly bad. It was difficult to find a table, and the ones available were covered in empty trays that had not been cleared by the staff. When I asked a staff member to clear a table for me, he seemed reluctant and responded sarcastically when I mentioned how busy they appeared to be. The sandwich selection was limited and many items were sold out by 12:30, which seems to be a common occurrence at this M&S location. Wait times for food have also been inconsistent, with some days requiring a half-hour wait despite not being informed in advance. The recent switch to bean-to-cup coffee machines has resulted in longer lines and added pressure on the staff. I have noticed that the cafe appears to be understaffed, which may explain some of the issues. It is clear that the employees are overworked and demoralized. M&S should treat their staff better and ensure that their food offerings are adequately stocked at all times. Running out of sandwiches by midday is simply not acceptable.
Stopped by for breakfast before doing some shopping. The cafe was fairly quiet and we were promptly served by friendly and polite staff.
