We decided to share the fish platter as a starter which was very tasty and plentiful, the meal then went downhill. The braised beef with shallots mushrooms and served on a bed of creamy mash with a red wine gravy was a pulled beef with no mushrooms served on watery potatoes and a average gravy and sent back because it was cold. At least the wife’s fish pie was something like.
Lovely evening at the Abode with friends for cocktails and food. Staff were professional, polite and personable. Food was delicious, especially the chicken and trout. All in all a wonderful experience.
Staff were so lovely and helpful. Such a nice atmosphere with a beautiful view, not too mention how amazing the food was!
As guests of the hotel we decided to try the brasserie for a drink after having spent the whole day in Chester. There was only six people in there. The waitress saw us come in. Another couple came in after us. The waitress never even came to our table and decided to serve the other couple and proceeded to make their drinks. We weren’t having this and got up and left. The waitress then asked us if we weren’t having drinks anymore. We replied not anymore. She never realized her mistake. This actually made us cancel a dinner booking for the following night.
Breakfast whilst staying in the hotel, great views and great choice of good. All freshly cooked, plenty of fresh juices, coffee, toast etc fabulous cooked traditional breakfast with fab veg option.
