The staff are very friendly and helpful, service was very fast. There are four steps up to the main entrance and a number of sets of steps internally, but also three ramp entrances, so it may well be possible to do the whole visit on the flat. Toilets are pleasant, very clean, with an accessible toilet, again on the flat. Prices are very reasonable. Surroundings are generally classy and comfortable (with the exception of an unpleasant display of antelope skulls high on one wall! in a wonderfully Gothic building. We will definitely be returning, highly recommended.
Today, we visited the restaurant for a meal. The food was delightful, but unfortunately, the service fell short. One of our starters never made it to the table, and when we inquired, the response was simply, It must have been missed off, without an apology. The drinks and main course were slow to arrive, requiring us to follow up on both. Even our dessert order needed reminding. To add to the inconvenience, we had to request cutlery, which was awkwardly placed at the end of our table for us to pass around. The only prompt arrival was the bill, likely due to the high demand for tables which may not be an issue in the future if things don’t change. Overall, our experience was far from impressive.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I can't recall the name of our server, but he was delightful and certainly deserved a generous tip.
The service at this restaurant is fantastic, and the food is served piping hot. The fish cakes were delightful, and the poached egg was perfectly cooked.
The restaurant has a beautiful decor and offers a good selection of high-quality pub food. The staff is incredibly friendly, hardworking, and efficient, with Helen standing out as exceptional.
