White Gate Inn - Chester

We enjoy the atmosphere and found the food to be excellent. The staff is extremely friendly.

I celebrated my birthday at the White Gate, and I have to say, it wasn’t a place for laughter or having a good time. We were awkwardly asked to calm down, which felt quite rude and unwelcome. On the plus side, the food was amazing, but I wish the atmosphere had been better. The White Gate is more suited for a quiet, serious dinner. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and it was truly perfect. We enjoyed a fantastic meal and excellent service. Afterward, we spent a lovely evening in the beautifully furnished inn. We will definitely be returning!

The food is excellent, and the service and ambiance are top-notch. However, it can get quite warm when the restaurant is fully booked. The staff is friendly and well-informed about the menu. Prices are in line with other restaurants of a similar standard. The desserts are small but delicious. I recommend making reservations to secure a good table. The patio is lovely, but if you do reserve a spot outside, be cautious about rainy weather, as there typically isn't enough space inside the main restaurant.
