Fox Hound Chesterfield

We waited 1 1⁄2 hours for sandwiches. the place was not even so busy. no manager came here to apologize and on our way out we saw our waitress smoking again.

We arrived for our scheduled reservation and were seated promptly. From that point on the dinner was not good. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come to our table and see if we would like a drink. We got drinks after a few minutes. We ordered dinner and it took almost 30 minute to get dinner, keep in mind that this is basic bar food and not fine dining. When dinner was severed the fish and chips ordered was poor the fish a little oily and the chips (French fries) ware served at room temp. They did try to make good no the chips, but the second try was not much warmer than the first one. Not likely to return.

We arrived at 4:50 PM for our 5 PM reservation, only to be told that the kitchen was closed and that they wouldn’t be seating anyone for the rest of the day. I requested to speak with the manager, but it took about five minutes for him to come out, presumably because he was outside smoking (it looked like he was out of cigarettes). I even received a text message confirmation from the restaurant the day before, but the manager couldn’t explain where the text came from or how I had made a reservation if they closed at 5 PM. He was completely unapologetic and condescending throughout the encounter. This was our Christmas dinner, and we were left scrambling to find somewhere else to eat. I will never dine at this restaurant again.

Upon our arrival, the atmosphere felt quite warm. After we got settled, I requested to have the air conditioning turned off, only to find out later that it was broken. It would have been helpful to know that before we sat down. Additionally, they were out of steak, which was disappointing.

We had an excellent server named Abby. Please let her know that we appreciate her outstanding customer service. I hope she enjoyed a lovely late dinner with her father and his grill.
