I had the veal Parmesan for my birthday dinner, and it was exceptional! It came with angel hair pasta, which was cooked to perfection. The veal was tender, and the portion size was generous—plenty for leftovers the next day. Whether you dine in or take out, the food is fantastic!
We have always been treated wonderfully by this restaurant, no matter the occasion. Recently, they catered a luncheon for my grandfather's memorial service, and as always, the service and food were exceptional. The meatballs, eggplant, and chicken alfredo are absolutely delicious. Personally, I have a special fondness for their baked macaroni (ziti) and lasagna, which are forever favorites of mine, but everything they serve is consistently excellent. Their pizza is incredible too, but it’s thicker and greasier than your typical Italian style, which I really enjoy. New York pizza is great, but Guido's always delivers that satisfying, cheesy, sausage-filled goodness you crave after a long week and a few ciders.
At first glance, the menu features a wide range of Italian dishes. While I found the variety to be good, it seemed somewhat limited. However, that makes sense once you see the generous portions! My fiancée and I both ordered pizzas—she chose a small pepperoni, while I opted for sausage and pepperoni. They were absolutely delicious! I’ve been searching for a place with a thicker bottom crust, and I finally found it here. My daughter-in-law ordered a small double cheese pizza and devoured it along with a side salad and some of those wonderful rolls. My son-in-law went with spaghetti and sausage. As a light eater, we knew he’d need a to-go box right away because his plate was enormous—filled with a mountain of pasta and two sizable sausage patties that were sweet with just a hint of mild spice, which were outstanding! Each sausage was about the size of my open hand, and I’m a pretty big guy. We also had cheesy garlic bread, and for a meal for four, our bill came to just over $100, which felt quite reasonable. We think the owner even stopped by our table to check on us, which was a nice touch. When we mentioned it was our first visit, he jokingly asked why it took us so long to come by, noting they’ve been in business for 60 years. That kind of longevity says a lot about the quality of their food—and it truly is excellent. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience!
I'll give the food and atmosphere a 5 as the food was great. Restaurant clean with a modern look. I'll give service a 4 because they do not take credit cards. This place was recommended to us and we drove quite aways. Luckily I had enough cash. Thewaitresses were okay and my 4 is not to reflect on them. The locals must be used to it as they was a good amount of take out.But for me I prefer not to carry cash.
