I made this profile just to leave this review. I was very excited about finally getting to eat here as Ive seen so many reviews online. I like to think Im a reasonable person, don’t have that high of standards, but this was horrible (slop), I finished less than a 3rd of it, paid the 280 Baht and walked out. I had ordered two main entrees, both the burrito and a Mexican plate (basically you make tacos), again I ate a little bit less than a 3rd paid and left. EVERYTHING I was served was clearly made AT LEAST the day prior and maybe a lot later. The leftovers were taken right out of the fridge, put on a plate, and served to me, leftovers served cold with no attempt at heating. I think the main issue might have been that I was the 1st one in there and maybe they weren’t ready, so they just served me the leftovers from the day prior. At least try to heat some of it. The rice was the biggest culprit, served STONE COLD and soggy, clearly right out of the refrigerator, made the day before, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was made a week before (it tasted like multiple days prior). It was BAD, just cold old SLOP, absolutely inedible, from its soggy cold temperature clearly spooned right out of a container from the fridge (not in anyway heated) and slopped onto a plate and the problem is it was sort of the main ingredient in the burrito. I kept trying to spoon it out, it was cold soggy, and absolutely inedible, but there was just too much of it. The chips were from the night before. They tasted stale, I did still manage to eat them. The taco shells were a different story, looking at them they were small flour tortillas lightly fried, also tasted very stale. Im guessing fried the night before and tossed in the fridge, and than served, again stone cold (no heating) and very stale. I couldn’t eat them, ate half of one and left the rest on the plate. The beans were ok (as leftovers they last longer). I ate the beans. The guacamole was good. Needed some seasoning, but obviously avocado based, and it actually tasted fresh, probably just used a decent avocado. Maybe guacamole just tastes a lot better than the other leftovers I was served when it is right out of the fridge. This was a horrible experience and honestly you couldn't pay me to eat here again. Someone seriously needs to tell them what can and what cant be saved from the day prior and reserved to unsuspecting customers, because some of those old leftovers they served me were just gross.
I waa really wanting to try this place and yet ended up at Birds Nest Cafe instead because it was on the way. Then found out at dinner time they turn into Olé! I was beyond thrilled had a good priced smotthie and waited a half hour for dinner. I eat very clean and therefore rarely do I eat out. Everything I asked about changing the meal to what I could easily eat she not only said yes but was excited to make it happen. I found out the sweet potato tortillas have flour/gluten in them so then she says I can make them with no flour. Just like that I asked if it was possible to cook the veggies in just water- no oil and no salt. Done. Easy. And to have a bit of salad on the side (not on the menu)? Yep! Really I realized I could of easily creates my own meal with whatever they had available it seems. It came out beautiful and for once with truly no oil or salt! (Most places still put some). The tortillas were really just mashed sweet potatoes which for me was so perfect as I only eat whole foods.
The food and drinks were amazing and the menu clearly states vegan options. I had the vegan tacos. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about veganism despite the communication barrier. They also use metal straws and recycled paper napkins! The restaurant is quite tucked away, but worth the find.
We really enjoyed our meal here, great service and delicious food! The write up on the menu explains that they don't use GMO corn so they make pumpkin tacos (which are delicious! and no palm oil in cooking. Would definitely recommend.
