The Mexican origin shot, roasted by Intelligentsia, had a cheerful and tangy flavor balanced with hints of something woodsy, possibly oak. It transported me to a Spring gathering, perhaps a wedding, with celebratory people dancing on a polished wooden floor bathed in sunlight streaming through the windows. It was a delightful experience. The near effervescent vessel pictured was thoroughly enjoyed.
The chai latte at this restaurant was excellent! In need of caffeine, I ordered the dirty chai with oat milk. I had heard great things about their breakfast burrito and crunch wrap, but unfortunately the kitchen was not serving food due to a lack of staff. Luckily, there was ample street parking available in front of the restaurant on a weekend morning. We decided to walk a few blocks down and get bagel sandwiches for breakfast instead. I would definitely return for their chai latte and hopefully be able to try the breakfast burrito when the kitchen is open again.
This coffee shop and bike repair shop is adorable! The concept is very unique and the space is inviting and cozy. It's a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for bike repairs, although it seems like they are temporarily pausing their repair services for the winter. They do offer pickup service, though. It's also a great place to shop for bike accessories while enjoying your morning coffee. While it may not be the best place to work or study due to limited seating and lack of outlets, it's perfect for catching up with a friend over coffee. They have delicious pastries available and their dirty chai is fantastic!
Upon arrival, we were met with an abrupt stern voice bluntly scolding I need everyone here in a mask. no welcome in, no smile, no please. we should have turned around then. I didn 't have a mask and we asked if he had an extra and he said no and told one of us to get out immediately and urgently. My boyfriend gave me his and politely exited the store. To further set the scene, it 's 30 degrees in bustling chicago. He was standing in the closed off entryway where nobody else is, and called me to give me his order. We ordered our 3 drinks and my boyfriend asked what the tea flavors were. I couldn 't even get it out or hear his answer as this worker began raising his voice and repeating over and over that he needed to leave. i told him over the phone to go out. even after he left, the worker kept talking about the mask law as if we didn 't know it and saying over and over that he needed a mask even. It felt like we, the customers, were the ones trying to diffuse the situation. I asked if we could move on, we get it, he is 10 feet away in a glass box, can we please place our last order? He never even let me get it out over his repetitive and loud commands. We said never mind and left. super weird and unwelcoming vibes.
Top notch silky smooth latte, free wifi, and bright, spacious, chill vibe. Everything I want in a coffee shop, plus bikes!
